Gala this weekend is raising funds for the critical care unit at Sturgeon Hospital

The Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation is holding their 33rd annual Friend Raiser Gala to help the critical care unit at the Sturgeon Community Hospital. Last year, the gala raised over $400,000 and they expect this year’s to go very well. The chair of the gala committee, Corinna Dooley, calls it the “premier fundraising event of the season in support of the Sturgeon Hospital Foundation.”

The gala is tomorrow night at the Edmonton Convention Centre and they’re expecting around 600 attendees. Guests are to expect a “night of fine dining, live entertainment, as well as live and silent luxury auctions,” says Dooley. “The funds raised are crucial for the equipment enhancement in the critical care unit. Healthcare providers can provide comprehensive, high-quality care locally and most importantly, [reduce] the need for patient transfers.”
