Edmontonians Invited to Stand Together on Moose Hide Campaign Day

On Wednesday, May 14, Edmontonians are invited to gather at City Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. for Moose Hide Campaign Day—a national movement to end domestic and gender-based violence.

Hosted in partnership with the City of Edmonton and the Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta (ISCA), the event centers Indigenous leadership and calls on everyone—regardless of gender or background—to commit to safety, healing and meaningful change.

While the campaign challenges men and boys to take action, the message is clear: this is a collective responsibility. Wearing a moose hide pin, showing up in person, or simply listening with an open heart are all ways to take a stand.

Moose Hide Campaign Day is more than a symbolic gesture. It’s a call to reflection and action, rooted in reconciliation and community strength. Participants are encouraged to register online, order pins, share on social media, and join virtual workshops on May 15. A national livestream from Victoria, B.C. will also be available.

Started in 2011, the campaign has distributed over five million pins across Canada—each one a promise to help end violence.
