Strathcona County asks for advice on Open Space Master Plan

Strathcona County is asking residents for their opinions as they enter the final stage of planning for their Open Space Master Plan (OSMP).

The OSMP will provide guidelines and criteria for new developments of and guide the planning of open spaces, parks and other outdoor amenities for the next 15 years. It also provides guidelines on how the county will maintain these spaces. The Master Plan will be developed using public and stakeholder input, growth projections, and the unique local context of parks, trails and open spaces in the County.

Engagement sessions will be hosted at local community centres, including Mellenium Place, Adrossen Recreational Complex, Strathcona County Public Library, Glen Allen Recreational Complex and Festival Place. You can also check out an online Storymap to go over the six key pillars of the guidelines (vision and pillars, supply, locations, connectivity, function and design).

There is also a virtual public meeting taking place on June 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. To go over information regarding the OSMP. You can register for the meeting here
