Police have laid multiple charges against a 25-year-old man in connection with a string of arsons, threats, and harassment incidents reported over the past year.
Between February 2024 and May 2025, Edmonton Police responded to eight separate incidents involving early-morning vehicle fires, threatening notes, and online harassment. The events took place in residential areas including Silver Berry, Pollard Meadows, Laurel, Wildrose, and Summerside.
Following a months-long investigation, police arrested Daman Khaihra on June 4, 2025. He now faces 23 charges: 13 counts of uttering threats to cause death, four counts of arson, five counts of criminal harassment, and one count of disguise with intent.
According to investigators, the victims were known to the accused and the acts appear to be targeted. Police emphasized there is no evidence linking these cases to Project Gaslight or other recent arson investigations in the city.
The Edmonton Police Service says the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
