AMBER Alert: Blind woman abducted in Edmonton

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has issued an AMBER Alert for a 40-year-old blind woman who was abducted in a stolen vehicle.

The abduction happened around 7:25 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 19) near 118 Avenue and 91 Street.

The abducted woman is Cindy Tin, who is blind and nonverbal. She is described as having short black hair and was last seen wearing a blue sleeveless shirt and black pants.

The driver of the stolen vehicle that abducted her is unknown. The vehicle is a 2013 white Toyota Sienna van, Alberta license plate CCM6068, last seen travelling westbound on 118 Avenue.

About half an hour after the AMBER Alert was sent out, Tin was located safe and unharmed just outside of Edmonton’s city limits.

The suspect of the abduction has not been located. Police believe that they fled from the stolen vehicle they abducted Tin in on foot.

Police are continuing to search for the suspect.
