Recently released sex offender placed back in custody

The Edmonton Police Service has arrested a sex offender who was recently released from jail.

On October 19, EPS warned the public about the release of 28-year-old David Adams, who had been placed in custody after approaching two young girls near an elementary school in West Edmonton.

Adams had probation conditions after also being charged with two counts of indecent acts back in February.

However, on Monday, October 23, Adams was arrested after being spotted using a computer at a public library, which was a breach of his release conditions.

According to police, while police were escorting him to their vehicle, Adams broke free and tried to escape. Police quickly tracked him down and placed him in custody.

Adams will be facing three charges – two for breaching probation, and one for escaping custody.

Adams remains in custody with his court date scheduled for October 31.
