Police reveal identities of Amber Alert suspects

Edmonton Police Service has revealed the identities of the two suspects charged with abducting a 40-year-old blind woman.

The abduction happened last Thursday, when a 40-year-old blind woman was abducted as the suspects stole the vehicle she was sitting in.

Half an hour after the Amber Alert was sent out, police found the vehicle in Fort Saskatchewan, believing that the suspects had fled the scene on foot.

Police located 25-year-old Dakota Hughes in downtown Edmonton on Saturday, charging him with theft of a vehicle and kidnapping.

The following day officers tracked down 23-year-old Jacob Chambers at Churchill Square with the assistance of Transit Peace Officers. Chambers is also facing charges of kidnapping and vehicle theft on top of two other charges for driving while prohibited and breaching release conditions.

Both men remain in custody as they await their court date in the future.
