Carnage Caverns prepares for final weekend of haunted house tour

Fort Saskatchewan’s Sheeptown Players are getting ready for the final weekend of their Carnage Caverns haunted house tour.

This tour is located at 8733 112 Street and is open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Stuart McGowan with the Sheeptown Players says that they’ve been doing this event for over 15 years.

“This year we’ve had a lot more people responding to it and coming out for it, so we’re very happy about that,” McGowan said.

The event is used to raise money for a good cause, whether that’s gathering funds for Operation Red Nose, or by getting food donations for the Fort Saskatchewan Food Bank.

McGowan added that this year they’ll be putting the money back into the Sheeptown Players.

“With not being able to host any events for the last three years, we have to pay for insurance, storage, and it’s been very tough to make ends meet.”

For the easily scared, there’s a kid friendly section of the cavern to keep things family friendly.

“We’ve always been family friendly in every show that we do,” said McGowan.

Tickets cost $5 per person, or $20 for a family of five or more alongside a donation to the food bank.
