Charges withdrawn in Fort Saskatchewan arson case

Charges have been withdrawn in an arson case that happened in Fort Saskatchewan earlier this year.

On February 5, police responded to a fire at a dental clinic and daycare at Market Place. The blaze ended up engulfing the buildings.

Police initially believed 34-year-old April Oleksyn to be a suspect, also believing she had started several smaller fires in the community.

Oleksyn was denied bail and held in custody after her February arrest. However, all of her charges were dropped at a court appearance on November 9.

Oleksyn has been released from custody.
