Gallery: Santa Claus Parade Snowless in Fort Saskatchewan

The streets of downtown Fort Saskatchewan were lined with people on Saturday for the annual Santa Claus Parade.

Around 30 floats from different organizations and businesses throughout the city were ordained with holiday ornaments as they circled the downtown core and handed out candy to the children.

This holiday tradition usually takes place towards the end of November, but was pushed back this year to early December. The event is hosted by the Fort Saskatchewan and District Chamber of Commerce and is one of the most popular holiday events in the city.

Although the parade followed its traditional route, what was most peculiar was the weather. At -3 C with no snow on the ground, this may be the first green Santa Claus Parade in history.
