The Canadian Food Inspection Agency [CFIA] expanded a national recall on Friday of Quaker Canada granola products to include various yogurt parfait products that may have been contaminated with granola which was recalled a day earlier for salmonella concerns.
The products have a best before date up to and including January 15, 2024, and include products sold in Alberta and Western Canada include:
- Acai Blend, Kiwi, Strawberry Parfait and Almond Granola sold at Loblaw banners and independent franchises in Western Canada
- Yogurt Bowl Banana, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Yogurt Bowl Mixed Berry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Nutty Yogurt Berry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Nutty Greek Yogurt Bowl, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Yogurt Bowl Plain With Granola, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Yogurt Bowl Strawberry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Greek Yogurt Banana, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Greek Yog Bowl Mixed Berry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Greek Yog Bowl Strawberry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Greek Yogurt Bowl Plain With Granola, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Yogurt Granola Fruit Cup, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Greek Yogurt Fruit Bowl, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada
- Yogurt Bowl Banana, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada, and at wholesale accounts in Alberta
- Yogurt Bowl Mixed Berry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada, and at wholesale accounts in Alberta
- Greek Yogurt Bowl Mixed Berry, sold at Sobeys banners in Western Canada, and at wholesale accounts in Alberta
Loblaws banners in Western Canada include Superstore, Dominion, Atlantic Your Independent Grocer, Wholesale Club; and Sobeys banners in Western Canada include IGA, Safeway, Sobeys, and Thrifty Foods.
In the recall CFIA writes that if you consumed one of these products and became sick, to contact your healthcare provider. If you have one of the recalled products in your refrigerator, CFIA instructs you not to eat, serve, use, sell, or distribute the recalled products. Either throw out any products captured by the recall or return them to the location they were purchased from, the CFIA said.
