39-year-old banned from University of Alberta for allegedly harassing women

Edmonton police are issuing a warning to the community after a man was reported to be following and harassing women at the University of Alberta campus.

39-year-old Faton Miftari has been ordered not to trespass on any UofA property due to these reports of harassment.

Miftari was previously arrested in September and charged with criminal harassment for allegedly stalking a woman, banging on her door, and peering through her windows.

He was also charged with trespass by night in December after peering through a window of a residence. Miftari also has previous convictions of criminal harassment and break and enter in Ontario.

Anyone who experiences concerning behaviour from Miftari or spots him on university property are asked to contact either University of Alberta Protective Services at 780-492-5050, or Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567.
