RunWild, a charity marathon event in St. Albert, saw a record-high number of participants.
This was the 13th year of the event, which saw 3,000 runners racing through the city, with 900 children participating in their “MaraFun” races.
There were 5k, 10k, and half marathon races, with money raised going towards the Zebra Child Protection Centre, the Chinook and Caribou child advocacy centres, and the St. Albert Senior Centre.
With last year’s marathon bringing in 2,800 racers, not only does this make 2024 a record high year for the event, but it means the event is only getting more popular.
Since forming back in 2011 Runwild has raised $717,000 for local charities.
