EPS: Charges laid in Kingsway homicide

An autopsy has been completed for the man who had died near Kingsway earlier this month, confirming the death as a homicide.

The man was discovered by police on May 15 just after 1:30 a.m. near 102 Street and Kingsway. He was injured and unresponsive, with paramedics taking him to hospital. Unfortunately, the man had died from his injuries.

The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Irvin Badarm, who was found to have committed a robbery just an hour before the murder. Badarm was arrested on May 18 and charged with second degree murder and robbery.

An autopsy was completed on May 21, identifying the victim as 34-year-old Clinton Quintal, with him dying from multiple stab wounds. Police added that they do not believe Badarm and Quintal knew each other.

Police believe there were other suspects involved in the robbery and the murder and are asking anyone with information to get in touch by calling 780-423-4567.
