New course in Edmonton provides knowledge on renting

A new, free course is available for Edmontonians called Rent Ready. It teaches tenant rights and responsibilities, home maintenance, budgeting, and understanding the application process. This course is part of the City’s efforts to prevent homelessness by empowering tenants.

There are two types of courses. The first is the Basic Course, a three hour in-person course that offers knowledge and tools to find a house that fits the participant. The second is the Certificate Course, an in-depth, in-person, four week course. Once it is completed, participants will receive a certificate recognized by the Alberta Residential Landlord Association as a reference for rental applications.
