Leduc youth in hospital after violent assault

A Leduc youth was sent to hospital after a violent assault earlier this week.

On Monday at around noon Leduc RCMP responded to reports of an assault involving several youths at a parking lot in the area of 50 Street and Corinthia Drive.

The victim of the assault was taken to hospital but has since been released and is recovering from home.

The investigation led police to charge four youth between the ages of 13 and 16. All of the kids are residents of Leduc.

The kids allegedly involved in the assault have been released from custody and will be appearing in court later this month.

“This information is only being shared to raise awareness about the violent occurrence. This information is not to be used to carry out unlawful and harmful acts against anyone.” said constable Cheri-Lee Smith with the RCMP.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
