Applications open for Strathcona County community grants

Strathcona County is now accepting applications for their 2024 community grants.

There are two grants that are available: the Community Connection grant, and the Community Change grant.

The Community Connection grant is to encourage residents to engage in local activities, with residents able to apply for up to $450 in funding to supplement a range of events.

These events include, but are not limited to, block parties, street concerts, scavenger hunts, and sleigh rides.

There’s also the Community Change grant, which serves to promote positive social change and community safety. Examples of these projects in previous years include the Living Christmas Tree project, and the Emergency Preparedness Kits project.

Community Change grants are available for up to $2,000, with applications for both grants ending on May 1.

“Resident knowledge and passion are the foundation of positive community change. Strathcona County residents continue to make this a community that is supported, safe and connected,” wrote the county on their website.
