Sturgeon Couty has placed a fire advisory in effect.
The advisory was issued on Wednesday due to dry conditions and a lack of precipitation. However, there are not many restrictions when it comes to a fire advisory.
For example, residents are still able to use charcoal barbecues, gas powered appliances, and even backyard firepits. As for debris fires, burn barrels, and incinerators, they’re still allowed, although a fire permit is required.
“Residents should use caution when engaging in activities that could provide an unintended ignition source such as welding, grinding and ATV use,” wrote the county on their website.
Fire advisories serve to inform the public that the fire danger rating has been increased.
The county provides updates on the fire bans section of their website, with the county encouraging residents to take action to prevent and prepare for wildfires.
