Leduc RCMP looking for owners of stolen equipment

Police in Leduc are looking for the public’s help returning stolen property to its rightful owners.

On March 4, police received reports of a welder and welding trailer being stolen from Saskatchewan and posted on Facebook Marketplace in Leduc.

Police began investigating into the stolen property, with officers determining that the welder and welding trailer were at a South Park residence in the city.

Two days after police got their initial report, officers attended the residence and arrested 46-year-old Michael Lee Payne.

The following day police executed a search warrant at the property where they seized 40 welders with an approximate value of $140,000.

Payne has been charged with possession of stolen property and was released from custody leading up to his court date. Police are now looking for owners of the stolen property, with the public encouraged to report all stolen items to the police.

Anyone who may own this property is asked to contact Leduc RCMP at 780-998-7200.
