Leduc RCMP and the Zebra Child and Youth Advocacy Centre are teaming up to talk with parents and guardians about protecting minors from becoming the victims of Internet crimes. The event takes place at the Leduc Public Library in a presentation billed as a “Surrounding Children and Youth with Stripes.”
“It’s a bit of a conversation right about that digital world and what [caregivers] can do to support their kids having those conversations, to make sure that their kids are aware of how to be using the Internet safely.” said Const. Cherri-Lee Smith, a public information officer.
“It is kind of the way of the world where kids are socializing, using the Internet,” Smith said, “we want to provide information to parents and caregivers to ensure that they’re well informed on how to support their children in making safe online decisions.”
The event is scheduled for November 22 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., and because space at the library is limited to 50 people, you are asked to RSVP by email.
